چکیده
Direct oxidation of methane to methanol (DOMTM) is attractive for the increasing industrial demand feedstock. In this review, latest advances in heterogeneous catalysis and plasma DOMTM are summarized, with aim pinpoint differences between both, provide some insights into their reaction mechanisms, as well implications future development highly selective catalysts DOMTM.

Heterogeneous asymmetric catalysis*
Examples of enantioselective catalysts, including homogeneous supported catalysts and biphasic liquid/liquid, are described and compared. In the case of asymmetric hydride transfer, polythiourea was proven to be more efficient for ruthenium-catalyzed reduction of aryl ketones, although the iridium complexes gave rise to higher ee when using amino sulfonamide bound to a polystyrene matrix. In th...
متن کاملMagnetically Separable Base Catalysts: Heterogeneous Catalysis vs. Quasi-Homogeneous Catalysis
The synthesis of magnetically separable quasi-homogeneous base catalyst and heterogeneous base catalyst is described. The quasi-homogeneous catalyst is achieved by supporting silane monomers functionalized with different amine groups directly on the surface of magnetite nanoparticles. The heterogeneous catalyst is prepared via a sol-gel process in which silane monomers containing different amin...
متن کاملTowards a methanol economy based on homogeneous catalysis: methanol to H2 and CO2 to methanol.
The possibility to implement both the exhaustive dehydrogenation of aqueous methanol to hydrogen and CO2 and the reverse reaction, the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol and water, may pave the way to a methanol based economy as part of a promising renewable energy system. Recently, homogeneous catalytic systems have been reported which are able to promote either one or the other of the two react...
